J. Michael Frische, O.D.

J. Michael Frische, O.D.

Optometrist

Dr. J. Michael Frische, a native of Jackson County returned to Seymour to practice optometry after graduating from Indiana University, with undergraduate majors of biology and psychology. He received his Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry in 1987. He is board certified in Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease.

His professional memberships include the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, Orthokeratology Academy of America. He is a board member of the Indiana Chapter of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH). He has completed over 30 VOSH trips providing eye care to the underprivileged in Africa, Belize, Cuba and Honduras.

Dr. Frische is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. This voluntary certification exemplifies his commitment to continuing to grow in knowledge and clinical skill in order to deliver the highest standard of care to his patients.

He and his wife (Shelly) reside in Seymour with their 3 children. He enjoys spending time with his family, sports, traveling, and camping.

Noah T. Wahl, O.D.

Optometrist

Dr. Noah Wahl of Seymour recently began seeing patients at the Seymour Eye Clinic along with Dr. J. Michael Frische. Dr. Wahl graduated as the valedictorian of his class from Seymour High School in 2008. He then attended the University of Indianapolis where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minored in Chemistry. Wahl was a member of the football team while attending the University of Indianapolis. In 2016 Dr. Wahl graduated in the top 10 of his class from Indiana University School of Optometry.

Dr. Wahl started his clinical training at Fort Knox Ireland Army Hospital in Fort Knox, KY and then at William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. This allowed him to provide care for active military personnel and veterans; treating conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. He also did training at Indianapolis Eye Care Center in Indianapolis, IN where he worked in both primary care and pediatric clinics. Wahl finished his training at Lasik Pro in Orlando, FL treating ocular disease and managing pre-operative and post-operative care for LASIK and cataract surgeries.

Wahl, the son of Tom and Tammy Wahl of Seymour, is a member of the American Optometric Association and Indiana Optometric Association. He is a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and is the 6th grade boys’ basketball coach at St. Ambrose.

Dr. Wahl is excited to be back in the Seymour community and is now accepting patients of all ages. He provides comprehensive eye examinations for adult and pediatric patients, diagnoses and treats ocular disease, and co-manages refractive and cataract surgery patients.
